This course will teach you how to use Docker to simplify and streamline your development and quality assurance processes.
Everyone involved in the application lifecycle, like developers, quality assurance engineers, and operations engineers, will benefit from this course. You will learn how to deploy a containerized programme in production from a workstation with confidence.
LAB INFO
Access to a Linux server or Linux desktop/laptop is necessary to complete the lab exercises in this course. You’ll also need access to a public cloud service or VirtualBox installed on your desktop. The course includes detailed guidance for setting up your lab space.
You should be able to complete the lab activities using the free tier or credits offered by a cloud service such as GCP or AWS. However, you can be charged if you use more credits than the cloud provider originally allotted to you, or if the cloud provider’s terms and conditions change.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
The course begins with a study of Docker fundamentals before walking through the lifecycle of a sample programme using Docker. Students use an IDE to write javascript, which they then upload to GitHub. Test cases are enabled until the code is committed, and if they succeed, the programme is implemented in the staging area. We’ll also look at ways to expand the method to implement the programme in development.
